SOMETHING FOR THE FAMILY

We now have something new and exciting for you to do with your family this half term - visiting a Cambridge Rowing club!

So, whatever the weather out there - we have you covered.  These new experiences have been designed to accommodate children of all ages - and hopefully inspire them to take up this iconic sport one day.

BOAT AND BLADES

1 hr

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

You will be given a guide around City of Cambridge Rowing club, the gym and the boat bay – and an opportunity to sit in a boat.

The experience includes a guided tour, followed by a detailed explanation of the rowing technique on a rowing machines (ergometer / ergs).  You will then be given the opportunity to try this yourselves.  We will then head downstairs into the boat bay where you will get to understand the different types of boats that you see on the river. Providing we have 3+ adults in the group, you will be given the opportunity to take a boat out, place it on the water – and then get in the boat for that Kodak moment!

If time permits, guests can purchase and enjoy a cold/hot drink on our balcony, overlooking the River Cam.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

The practical session is suitable for 10+ yr olds, however, you are welcome to bring children* of any age.  Do please note that parents/guardians must take full responsibility of their children at all times.

*All children need to be accompanied by at least 1 paying adult

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Whatever you wish!  However, it would be advisable to wear something practical if you wish to enjoy the ergs (rowing machines) or would like to sit in the boat for a photo opportunity. Please also note that shoes must be removed before stepping in the boat.
